Congratulations once again on advancing to the Final Round of the 16th e-ICON World Contest.

The Final Round of the e-ICON World Contest is an international collaboration program in which Korean and overseas students work together as global teams to develop a web application.

Based on the submitted app development proposals, 10 global teams have been formed for collaboration in the Final Round.

The global team matching was carried out by comprehensively considering each team’s project theme, technical expertise, and potential for collaboration. The results are as follows.

Finalist notification emails have been sent individually only to the teams selected for the Final Round via the email addresses registered during the application process. Teams that received the finalist notification email are requested to carefully review the email and prepare for the upcoming schedule. We would also like to express our appreciation to all participants who were not selected for the Final Round.     감사합니다.]]>     Fri, 12 Jun 2026 15:59:48 +0000     <![CDATA[Notice on Preliminary Evaluation and Contest Schedule for the 16th e-ICON World Contest]]> 252 applications were submitted for the preliminary round of the 16th e-ICON World Contest. Compared to the 141 teams that participated in the preliminary round last year, this represents an increase of approximately 78.7%, showing a significant expansion in participation from the previous year. We would like to inform you that the preliminary evaluation of submitted app development proposals is currently underway. The evaluation is being conducted as a document-based review of the proposals submitted by domestic and international teams. During the preliminary evaluation, the submitted proposals will be reviewed based on the specificity of the problem definition, feasibility and relevance of the proposed solution, web application planning and implementation potential, connection to the SDG theme, and expected impact. Based on the preliminary evaluation results, teams expected to advance to the final round will be selected. The selected teams will then go through a final participation confirmation process. After that, domestic and international teams will be matched to form global teams for the final round. The final global team matching results will be announced on Friday, July 3, 2026, through the official contest website and individual email notifications. Please refer to the key schedule below.

During the online final round, global teams will work together through online collaboration, mentoring, web app development, and presentation preparation. An Online Meet-up Day is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026. Further details will be provided separately to the teams advancing to the final round. The offline final round will be held in Korea from Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 7, 2026. The offline program is expected to include the opening ceremony, team development activities, final presentations and evaluation, awards ceremony, and closing ceremony.     As the preliminary application deadline is approaching, we would like to provide a reminder regarding the application and proposal submission process. Please refer to the information below and complete your submission before the deadline.

    1. Application Deadline

    • May 29, 2026 (Fri), 17:00 (KST)

    ※ Applications and proposals will not be accepted after the deadline.

    2. How to Apply

    1) Visit the e-ICON website and click the “Apply” tab → Access the application page for the 16th e-ICON World Contest 2) Click “Apply” and complete the individual application form ※ All team members (2 students and 1 teacher) must submit their own application forms individually. 3) Create a team
    • Each team must consist of 2 students and 1 teacher.
    4) Submit the App Development Proposal
    • Download the proposal template and complete it in English
    • The team leader must upload the proposal in PDF format

    ※ Your application will only be considered complete after the proposal submission.

    3. Important Notes

    • The proposal must be submitted once per team.
    • The proposal may be revised and re-uploaded until the application deadline.
    • The final uploaded version will be used for the preliminary evaluation.
    • Teams that fail to submit the proposal before the deadline will be excluded from evaluation.
