[Announcement] Call for Participants: The 16th e-ICON World Contest (Application Deadline: May 29, 17:00 KST)

Greetings,

Applications for the 16th e-ICON World Contest are now open.

We invite middle and high school students from developing countries to participate.

The e-ICON World Contest is an international competition where students develop web-based applications (web apps) to address challenges related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year, the contest has transitioned from native app development to web app development to improve accessibility and lower technical barriers. To support participants, complimentary online preliminary training will be provided during the application period.

1. Contest Overview
– Theme: SDGs 3. “Health and Well-being”
– Eligibility: Any middle and high school students from developing countries ※Team participation required (2 students + 1 teacher)

2. Application Information
– Application Period: March 31, 2026 – May 29, 2026/ 17:00 (KST)
– How to Apply:
1) Visit the e-ICON website and click the “Apply” tab
→ Access the application page: https://hn-eicon-front.rootsall.net/en

2) Click “Apply” and complete the individual application form

3) Form a team (Create a team consisting of 2 students and 1 teacher)

4) Submit the App Development Proposal (Required)
– Download the provided template and complete it in English
– The team leader must upload the proposal in PDF format
→ Your application is only complete after submitting the proposal

3. Important Notes
– All team members must submit individual applications
– The proposal is submitted once per team
– You may revise and re-upload your proposal until the deadline
– The final submitted version will be used for evaluation
– Failure to submit the proposal by the deadline will result in disqualification

4. Announcement of Results
– July 3, 2026 (Tentative)
– Results (including global team matching and finalists) will be announced via the website and individual emails
